    unexpected delays

I spent my day yesterday on a train, however it was supposed to be spent in Vienna. I woke up at 6 to catch the 7:40 train after breakfast with my dad, and bought my ticket, then found out that the direct train to Wien Westbahnhof was cancelled. Fab. I decided to go the alternate route and take the Munich train, get off at Rosenheim, switch trains, take the train to Salzburg, once again switch trains, and be on my way to Vienna. I got off at Rosenheim and learned that the next train to Salzburg wasn’t actually going all the way to Salzburg. So I waited one hour to…

    unexpected outdoors

Hello guys! I’m sorry I haven’t been up to blogging lately! I’ve been doing more or less the same thing for the past couple days, and I figured it would be more interesting if I just smushed my weekend into one post. My days have primarily been spent outside getting active and being relatively healthy (in between ice creams and meals). I spent my Friday taking a hike… literally. I had read about some lakes that I thought needed a visit! The total hike was about 15 kilometers, and it was beautiful. The lakes were so peaceful and they were fabulous to walk around as I cleared my head. This lake, Hectsee,…

    unexpected salzburg

Hi, friends!!! Today I woke up pretty early (6am) to leave as soon as possible for Salzburg!!! I am definitely not what one would call a morning person, but I made a new friend the second I stepped outside the hotel, and he (or she!) definitely made me smile, despite the early hour. Here he (or she) is: Like always, I took the bus into Kufstein and then took a train. Since there was no direct train from Kufstein to Salzburg anytime soon, I hopped on the train to Munich, and got off at Rosenheim. Unfortunately for me, the train from Kufstein to Rosenheim was delayed by 10 minutes, and…

    unexpected innsbruck

Hello hello hello! I woke up at 8ish this morning and headed downstairs for some breakfast. After a cheeky meal of a pear, some pineapple AND a slice of whole wheat toast with Nutella, I decided to go back up to my room to plan my day out. Since it was about 9 am at this point, I decided not to stray too far from my home base of Bad Häring. What other place than Innsbruck? I looked up the bus schedule, and unfortunately, I had just missed a bus by 10 minutes, and the next one is at 11 am. So here I am, sitting in the hotel room…

    unexpected meat dishes???

Hello from Austria! I arrived at 8 am in Munich, and was greeted by my dad and his coworkers, all of whom were incredibly sweet and patient while waiting for me to arrive. We drove down to Bad Häring, Austria, about an hour and forty five minute drive. Once we arrived and checked into our designated rooms, we all met again for lunch at noon. Post lunch, my dad had to go to his work site for some meetings, so I took that time to explore our surroundings by going on a run… err, a “run.” I was so caught up in the beauty of Austria that I only actually…
