Greetings from the Little Red Dot! After 45 hours of travel (leaving Mount Holyoke), I have made it home!
The way out here was a tough one. Blame it on long holiday queues, two delays, failed entertainment systems, and full out sprints from one terminal in the airport to the farthest terminal from there.
I am sleep deprived, I am achy, and I am dehydrated, but I am home.
And I even made it for Christmas Eve (which I was very concerned about during EVERY SINGLE CONNECTION due to delays)!
Hectic travel really makes me appreciate the little things, like pretty sunrises from plane windows and punctuality.
As jet lagged as I may be, the past weekend has been absolutely incredible. Distance sure does make the heart grow fonder. I’ve missed my parents, sister, and home country so much more than I realised previously, and I’ve definitely become closer to them throughout the past four months.
It was wonderful to spend the holidays home with the people I love most in my favourite home (thus far).
I hope you all had wonderful holidays wherever you are in the world and I hope you spent plenty of time with loved ones, new friends, or both.
