    South Kensington Museum Guide

Whenever I'm in London, I LOVE to go to South Kensington. Strolling around the neighbourhood, hopping through museums, and indulging in a cheeky scone (with clotted cream and jam, OF COURSE) is one of my favourite ways to spend an afternoon. Here's my complete South Kensington Museum Guide.

    A Harry Potter Scotland Tour

Harry Potter was one of the books that introduced me to a love of reading at a young age. Being able to live in Scotland, the birthplace of the series, is absolutely magical (haha please laugh). I've visited so many sights that inspired the books and so many sights that were used for filming. If you're looking to step away from the muggle world, follow this tour!

Exploring Winter Wonderland & Edinburgh Christmas 2017

Being back in the cold weather for Christmas has certainly put me into a festive mood! The UK does Christmas the right way. Lots of lights, markets, and hot chocolate stands around! I’ve been travelling across the UK quite frequently these past two weeks. I’ve been able to see places as Christmas comes nearer, and I have to say, London has been getting more and more beautiful! I headed out to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. I went during the daytime on a weekday. If you’re looking to have short lines, this is a great time! It would also be a great time to bring small children. It’s not busy…

    unexpected lake district

Heading to the Lake District? As a last attempt to camp before the weather turns too cold, I headed down to the Lake District this weekend! It’s a quick two-hour train ride from Edinburgh, and definitely worth a visit. The Lake District has quite a few little towns scattered around lakes. The towns are all very charming and quaint, but we didn’t stay in them. We stayed at the Low Wray campsite, which was really nice! Since it’s getting cold, there was only one other tent out the entire weekend. I could see why everyone loves the Lake District. The walks aren’t challenging, but they’re absolutely beautiful! There are plenty…

unexpected scotland: a road trip to loch ness & the isle of skye

Though I’ve only been at school for a month, it was good to rekindle a sense of exploration. Phil came up to Scotland with a tent; we packed our bags into a rental car and hit the road. I got out of class midday on Friday, and we started driving by about noon. It was only £15 per day for the car, which we picked up at Europcar Edinburgh Waverly. Driving in Scotland is beautiful (if you pick the right roads). The smaller highways often go through beautiful parts of the country, following green, winding roads. Scotland is a great place for a road trip. Take advantage of the rest stops,…

unexpected kent: dover, canterbury, and the seaside

Hi guys! Earlier this month, I took a very short, but very sweet trip to Kent, England. Sometimes trips are great because of the company you’re with, not the actual destination, and I’ll admit, I thought this would be one of those trips. I was so wrong! Kent is full of so much beauty and charm. My two(ish) days flew by, and I want to return and see more! During my two(ish) days in Kent, I visited three places. Canterbury, Dover, and the seaside (apart from Dover). Each was quite different and so so lovely. Canterbury What an absolute gem. This city is so wonderful- there are the cutest alleyways…

unexpected edinburgh: my first week living abroad

Hey friends! Today marks only the first week of being in Ediburgh (though you’ll read this later). Of course, starting uni and setting up a life here has taken it’s time, so I haven’t been able to explore the city too much. That being said, Edinburgh has already blown me away. Before coming here, after telling people I would be moving to Edinburgh, I got two kinds of responses. The first one full of joy and excitement for me, telling me I’d love both the city and country. The second? “WHY?” Pro tip: if someone’s heading to university somewhere, don’t ask them why the hell they’d pick that location, especially when…

    unexpected london: tea & boots

The past two days have been an absolute dream! I don’t have many pictures of these days due to some camera glitches, but it’s now sorted out and the next post will be full of photos! The eighth in London was our “lux” day. We woke up quite late (oops) and first headed out to Camden… I know, we’ve been there three times! But OH MAN if you’re in London, you just have to go! IT’s an absolute riot there. After browsing around the many stalls, Sophia and I walked to The Wolseley for afternoon tea. The Wolesley was beautiful, and the tea was fantastic. Sophia and I exchanged a look…
